Lead Developper (Ruby on Rails)

Dialog Solutions, an exciting Web software & research company based in Brussels is looking for a Tech lead developer to join the team as its key tech lead. Dialog Solutions has been active since almost 3 years and is now looking to accelerate its growth.
The company is developing Web applications and portal it owns and commercializes. To boost development of a new product they have developed, which is a unique tool to take advantage of social media comments and testimonials onto a web site (www.dialogfeed.com), and a next generation Q&A forum, it is looking for a tech lead to drive further development.
Job Description
The company is looking to insource, at least partially, its product development, now outsourced to a Web agency. The developer would be the ‘Tech leader’ of the company, reporting to the product managers and CEO of the company.
Short term, the development would focus on the product itself, with:
• Work closely with management to provide input, estimations and discussions based on documented requirements
• Drive technical approach, data modeling & database design & technical development
• Conduct unit testing & debugging, and document
• Participate to daily ‘scrum’ to drive development
The job would include as well some maintenance on existing Web 2.0 property owned (Brandialog).
Medium term, the job would include the coaching of more junior people hired on the team
Requirements
Overall a few years of working experience is required. We welcome more junior applications provided they have outstanding working experience with Ruby on rails, demonstrated through projects.
• Ruby on Rails is the main programming language and framework. 2-3 years experience in language is required. Exceptionally we would welcome applications from experienced developers who have shown ability to quickly learn a new language
• Knowledge of Javascript, Ajax
• Experience with relational database such as MySQL, and Unix environment
• Experience with API of Facebook, Twitter and/or other social networks is a plus
• Familiarity with Web & Web 2.0 developments: quick understanding of business requirements, ability to quickly translate requirement into technical specifications, etc…
• Passion for programming & the Web !
